Frontier Resources (FNT) has completed its second phase of fieldwork at the Kimono gold prospect in Papua New Guinea.

All up, 218 trench samples were collected from 10 trenches along the Kimono vein and five along the Tassy vein.

Furthermore, 54 rock samples were collected between the Kimono and Tassy veins and from the Auga River to the north.

The aim of this sampling program was to generate additional gold targets, and samples have been sent to ALS Laboratories in Brisbane for analysis.

Previous work along the Kimono vein has revealed it visibly spans over 250 metres in length and can host high-grade gold with up to 101g/t historically intersected.

It remains open to the northwest and southeast and additional sampling is required to map the veins and identify additional targets.

Two drill target areas have been identified where Frontier will take a drilling program pending the results of the sampling program.

Frontier last completed sampling at Kimono in October 2020, where 219 rock and trench samples were collected from Kimono and Kimono South.

In November, Frontier received initial results which uncovered two mineralised vein splays 370 metres from historical mineralisation.

Additionally, up to 15.5g/t gold was intersected.

The final results were received in January, where up to 101g/t gold was intersected.

Frontier has ended the day in the grey with shares trading at 1.6 cents in a $7.825 million market cap.
