- Frontier Resources (FNT) has now dug 12 trenches across the Kimono and Tassy veins, which are located within its Tolukuma Gold Project in Papua New Guinea
- The company is undertaking a field work program that’s aiming to define future drilling targets
- So far, 82 samples have been collected from eight trenches across the veins and a further 19 from Suwaitana Creek
- The program has been successful in showing vein continuity and high-grade gold of up to 101g/t
- Field work is expected to wrap up early this month, and first assays will start arriving in late March

Frontier Resources (FNT) has dug 12 trenches across the Kimono and Tassy veins where 82 samples have been collected from eight trenches so far.
The Kimono and Tassy veins are located within the Tolukuma Gold Project in Papua New Guinea, where Frontier is conducting a field work program to define drill targets.
In addition to these two veins, 19 rock samples have been collected from Suwaitana Creek and are ready to be transported to Port Moresby for despatch to assay labs in Brisbane.
Pleasingly, geological mapping has confirmed the continuity of a mineralised vein system over at least a 350-metre strike length within a high‐grade section of the Kimono gold vein system, which is interpreted to extend over three kilometres.
This high-grade section has previously returned samples of 101g/t gold along with trench results of 10 metres at 1.99g/t gold and 175 metres further south 1.1 metres at 42.7g/t gold.
Recent trenching over the newly discovered Tassy vein system has shown at least two mapped parallel veins splayed off from the main Kimono vein which have broadened the overall mineralised vein system along the eastern boundary of the Tolukuma Gold Project.
The field work program is expected to be completed early this month after facing delays due to a cyclone. Assay results are expected to start coming in later this month.
