Frontier Resources (FNT) has released some findings of a historical data review completed at the Mt Clere rare earths and lithium project in Western Australia.

The program reviewed historical surface soil samples which identified up to 960.1 parts per million (ppm) total rare earth oxides (TREO)

More broadly, the review highlighted multiple targets areas that correspond with elevated strontium, niobium and TREO.

The targets are located within the Durlacher Supersuite lithology which hosts ASX-listed Hastings Technology Metals’ (HAS) ‘world-class’ Yangibana Mineral Resource.

“It is extremely encouraging that a review of historical surface soil sampling has identified a maximum of 960.1ppm TREO assay result which given these are soil samples and not rock chips, makes the numbers seem quite remarkable,” Technical Director Brian Thomas said.

In addition to the historical review, Frontier completed a field reconnaissance and sampling program to inspect the target areas. Seventeen rock chip samples were collected and sent to the ALS Laboratory. Assay results are expected some time this month.

To follow up on the recent findings, Frontier Resources will undertake a gridded auger sampling program across the Mt Clere project to identify and validate the potential of REEs and lithium mineralisation.

Depending on the results, further systematic exploration activities may be conducted.

Company shares were trading 3.23 per cent higher at 3.2 cents at 11:12 am AEST.
