Retail intelligence ecosystem Frugl (FGL) has released version 3.0 of Frugl Grocery, a free grocery comparison app offering “lower prices, healthier options.”

Available to Apple and Andorid users, the updated app delivers a range of new features, major performance improvements, and a better user experience overall.

Users can look forward to enhanced shopping options as the app now includes retailers such as Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and IGA.

Frugl can now add unlimited retailers to the platform, and will be seeking to add new retailers, products and categories in the future.

New retailers don’t need to be from the grocery category; the company says it is willing to add from any complementary category which they believe will add value to users.

Another new app feature is ‘social logins,’ allowing users to log in to Frugl Grocery using Facebook, Google or Apple.

The company say this will increase user data security, improve user sign-in and retention rates, and make the onboarding process simpler and faster.

Frugl Grocery’s wellness tools have also made the update. Users can identify allergens and nutritional thresholds and utilise these settings to filter their search results.

Arguably, some of the app’s the most impressive enhancements are those which have been made to lists.

Users can now create shareable collaborative lists with multiple users, custom and saved shared lists from external sources, and collaborative family lists for households.

Additionally, the new Shopping Note feature allows users to split their current shopping list into specific retailers, add product quantities and mark off products as they add them to their baskets.

The company says Shopping Note is a pre-cursor to a transactional shopping basket, which is in development for future release.

The foundations have been set for the commercialisation of the Frugl Grocery app beyond the current retail analytics revenue stream.

Shares in Frugl were down 10.34 per cent at the close of trading on Thursday at 2.6 cents each.
