  • Gravity and IP survey results match location of mineralised PGM trends at Mission Sill prospect
  • Review of IP data adjacent to sulphide intersections shows strong geophysical response and significant target zone
  • Gravity data over project area north and south of the Callisto resource supports 20km prospective trend
  • Upcoming aircore drilling will target along strike of recent anomalous shallow sulphide results

Galileo Mining (ASX: GAL) has received significant geophysical results ahead of a drilling program at its high-profile Norseman project in Western Australia.

Interpretation of gravity and IP survey data has confirmed a significant target over the Mission Sill prospect area where recent RC drill results showed sulphide mineralisation at shallow levels.

“We are pleased to advise that our upcoming drill program focussing on sulphide mineralisation at the Mission Sill prospect is strongly supported by geophysical survey results,” MD, Brad Underwood, said.

Interpretation of both induced polarisation (IP) and gravity data show that Galileo is targeting geological contact zones where the development of significant mineralisation could be expected to occur based on the location and attributes of the company’s significant Callisto discovery resource at Norseman.

“The IP data in particular shows a very strong response adjacent to our recent results.

“The gravity survey results have confirmed the extensive strike length of the PGE prospective horizons at our Norseman project with over 20km of strike around the Callisto resource and over 10km of strike at the Mission Sill prospect,” Mr Underwood said.

“Our next drill program will be working on infill drilling at the Mission Sill prospect as well as undertaking first pass drilling at untested prospective zones within the Callisto South prospect.

“We look forward to the commencement of drilling as we seek to unlock the potential of our hugely prospective 255 square kilometre project area.”

The Norseman project contains the Callisto discovery and adjacent regional prospects Jimberlana and Mission Sill with potential for palladium, platinum, nickel, copper, cobalt, and rhodium mineralisation.

The Callisto deposit was discovered in 2022 and is the first deposit of its type identified in Australia, analogous in mineralisation style to the Platreef deposits found in South Africa.

GAL is up 3.23% to 16.0¢. Mkt cap $30.63M.
