Gateway Mining (GML) has received high-grade results from drilling at its Evermore prospect which is part of its Gidgee Gold Project in Western Australia.

In May, the company completed a 91-hole reverse circulation drilling program and a six-hole diamond drilling program at Evermore and other prospective areas of the northwest margin target area at Gidgee.

The latest results come from the first diamond hole drilled and from 10 infill RC holes which were drilled to evaluate gold within the main shear structure and confirm the geological interpretation.

Infill RC drilling successfully increased the grade definition along the main west-dipping shear at Evermore. Best results include 10 metres at 2.8g/t gold from 101 metres and two metres at 10.8g/t gold from 87 metres.

The Evermore shear structure has been intersected over a total strike length of more than 420 metres. Geological data also interpreted the shear structure remains open to the south and north of the current intersections.

Diamond drilling also outlined the presence of a narrower, steep easterly-dipping shear zone with quartz veining. Best results from the first hole include 1.9 metres at 22.4g/t gold from 151.4 metres and two metres at 3.3g/t gold from 139 metres.

Additional results from this drilling are pending while Gateway Mining prepares to begin a 20,000-metre aircore drilling program on July 1. This program will test major target areas and a major gold-in-soil anomaly to the west of Evermore.

Company shares were up 5.26 per cent and trading at 2 cents at 12:33 pm AEST.
