WA lithium company Global Lithium Resources (GL1) has announced its drilling contractors Mt Magnet Drilling will start to arrive at the Manna lithium project, near Kalgoorlie, WA, to commence drilling.

The drilling program will initially include 4000 metres of diamond drilling, which is targeting the pegmatites at depths below previous drilling.

This program will be GL1’s first diamond drilling campaign at Manna since the purchase of the project in December 2021.

Results from Manna drilling program will be included into the updated mineral resource later this year.

Mt Magnet, an experienced WA-based drilling services company specialising in diamond mineral exploration drilling is scheduled to commence coring next week.

Head of Geology Stuart Peterson said the addition of Mt Magnet will enable the pegmatites to be targeted to a depth that has never been reached before at Manna.

“The drilling information we gain from this program will enable the company to look to expand the current lithium resource for the project and provide material for further metallurgical test work,” he said.

“Mt Magnet is a highly experienced drilling contractor that I have worked with before in large-scale resource drilling programs and I am confident they will deliver this program on budget and schedule.”

The mobilisation follows the commencement of the initial 20,000 metres RC drilling program at the project by contractor Profile Drilling Services in May 2022.

Manna hosts a maiden inferred mineral resource of 9.9 million tonnes at 1.14 per cent lithium oxide.

The company expects a mineral resource update to follow the drilling program along with additional metallurgical test work in Q4 2022.

Shares in Global Lithium were up 7.11 per cent, trading at $1.28 as of 3:42 pm AEST.
