Gold 50 (G50) has kicked off reverse circulation drilling at its Top Gun gold-silver project in Nevada.

According to the company, drilling contractor Alaska Midnight Sun arrived to site on the weekend to begin the first drilling program ever conducted at the project.

Drilling will test a 1150-metre-long zone of gold mineralisation, quartz veining and silification with historic workings.

Top Gun is located in the Walker Lane Trend of Nevada where the company is also exploring the Spitfire, Caisson and Broken Hills projects.

Once drilling at Top Gun is complete, the drill rig is set to mobilise to the Spitfire project. Here, a 3500-metre campaign will test targets identified by rock chip sampling and surface mapping, following a review of TSX-listed Kinross Gold Corporation’s extensive historical exploration database.

The company said starting its maiden drilling program at Top Gun marks the start of its continuous campaign of drill testing across its Nevada projects.

Having completed its IPO in August, G50 said it is well financed to complete the planned exploration activities over the next two years.

Gold 50 was up 3.7 per cent to $0.28 per share at the close of trading on Tuesday.
