Gold Road Resources (GOR) is reporting a disruption at its processing plant operating at the joint venture Gruyere Gold Mine in Western Australia.

The JV is joint owned between GOR and Gruyere Mining Company, a member of the Gold Fields Ltd Group, which manages and operates Gruyere gold mine.

Gold Road reports the ball mill at Gruyere shut on Tuesday after a failure within the trunnion bearing.

As a result, Gruyere’s processing plant is currently operating at a reduced throughput rate while the processing recovery is using only the SAG mill.

The company said repairs were underway on the bearing, as well as an investigation in to the root cause.

GOR expects the ball mill to remain out of service for between three and seven days, while repairs take place.

The gold mine is expected to produce a total of 59,000 ounces over the September quarter, with December’s outlook still pending.

GOR said it would update the Q4 production outlook once the disruption at the ball mill was resolved and operations resumed as normal.

Shares in GOR closed up 2.53 per cent at $1.20 each.
