Golden Mile Resources (G88) has identified a “promising” new copper and zinc sulphide target at the TBW prospect within its Yarrambee base metals project in WA’s Murchison region following a recent bout of reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

Better intersections from TBW included two metres grading 2.29 per cent copper from 57 metres and five metres at 6,433 parts per million zinc from 120 metres, which Golden Mile said opened a new target horizon within the Narndee cluster of targets.

The company said the round of RC drilling totalling 1,168 metres completed in December last year also indicated the potential for further base metal mineralisation at the project’s Tank and Chi prospects within the Narndee cluster.

However, Golden Mile noted the Tank drilling results were inconclusive and further drilling and down-hole electromagnetic (EM) survey work were needed.

Not all of the exploration work at Yarrambee went according to plan.

Golden Mile said one of the drill holes at TBW collapsed due to poor ground conditions before a planned EM survey could be completed.

Similarly difficult ground conditions were also encountered at the Tank and Chi prospect, where two holes collapsed before a down-hole EM survey could be completed and a deeper planned hole failed to reach its target depth.

Golden Mile said due to the lack of down-hole EM data and no obvious geological intervals that could explain a previously detected EM anomaly, the company considered the drilling at Tank to be inconclusive.

The company was planning to extend moving-loop electromagnetic (MLEM) survey work to the south at TBW where EM conductors remain open.

The company is also planning to drill test EM conductors identified at the Narndee South, ND-4 and T5-9 targets within the project area.

G88 shares were steady at 6.1 cents at 3:26 pm AEDT.
