Golden Rim Resources (GMR) is gearing up for diamond drilling at its Kada project in Guinea, as reverse circulation drilling progresses.

The company has completed 17 RC drill holes at the Massan prospect, seven of which were extended after mineralisation was hit at planned depth.

Now, RC drilling is underway at the Bereko prospect, with 12 holes completed for 1318 metres out of a planned 6000 metres.

Bereko is positioned nine-kilometres north of the current mineral resource, and Golden Rim said RC drilling here will enable a trenching campaign at Massan to further improve geological confidence within the area.

Meanwhile, a diamond drill rig is in transit to Kada with 3500 metres of drilling planned.

The company hopes to gain structural information about the controls on mineralisation from deeper drilling across both the Massan and Bereko prospects.

Golden Rim’s Chief Executive Officer Tim Strong said the company is pleased with the speed with which the drilling has commenced and the progress of the exploration program so far.

First assays are expected towards the end January with a “steady stream” of new results anticipated over the coming months.

Shares in GMR were up 3.3 per cent trading at 3.1 cents at 11:20 am AEDT.
