GreenTech Metals (GRE) has confirmed the discovery of new lithium-containing rock chips at its Ruth Well project in Western Australia.

Lithium rock chips were found to contain concentration grades of up to 1.80 per cent lithium oxide. Nine samples of over 1 per cent were reported.

The news comes ahead of the company’s planned maiden drill run at Ruth Well.

“We are extremely pleased to see a persistence in the tenor of the mineralisation over the entire length of the pegmatite zone identified to date,” GRE Executive Director Thomas Reddicliffe said.

“GreenTech has a strong foothold in one of WA’s exploration hotspots and with high-quality lithium and copper projects in its portfolio.”

A total of 65 samples have been assayed from the site to date.

The company also reported it extended the strike length of its existing Kobe pegmatite bearing zone by 1.5 kilometres to 7.5 kilometres in total length.

GreenTech shares were up 16.1 per cent and trading at 65 cents at 12:30 pm AEST.
