Haranga Resources (ASX:HAR) has released findings from its Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling initiative at the Saraya Uranium project in Senegal.

Initiated in December 2023 with FTE Drilling at the Saraya deposit, the RC drill program successfully concluded two holes at Saraya and one at Diobi by the end of the year.

Drilling recommenced in February 2024 focused on generating confirmation data for the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) upgrade.

The MRE is scheduled for completion following metallurgical test-work on ore characterisation conducted by SGS Lakefield in Canada.

“The first results from the RC drilling are indicating the continuation of the uranium mineralisation at Saraya. The first eight holes have returned significant widths and concentrations that are consistent with the model and the Mineral Resource Estimation published in October 2023,” Haranga Managing Director Mr. Peter Batten said.

“We are hopeful the RC drilling at Mandankoly and Sanela will produce indications of the potential beneath the laterite cover within the anomalies identified from the auger drilling.”

RC drilling Saraya prospect

In Q4 2023, the rig completed three holes, two at Saraya (324 metres each) and one at Diobi (99 metres). In February 2024, an additional six holes were drilled at Saraya, totalling 1199 meters.

The drilling program is set to conclude in March 2024.

Sample collection involved retrieving samples from the drill cyclone, with initial preparation at Haranga’s camp on-site at Saraya. The samples were dried, split using a riffle splitter to create sub-samples, and then crushed and split again to generate 250gm sub-samples.

Subsamples undergo processing via portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF), and those displaying uranium anomalism are chosen for transport and subsequent assaying by ALS Laboratories in Canada.

Following the initial Saraya drilling, the rig moved to assess auger soil anomalies at Mandankoly and Sanela.

Once these holes are completed, the rig will return for further drilling at Saraya.
