HITIQ (ASX:HIQ) has announced its sensor-containing Nexus mouthguard meets World Rugby’s specifications for the safety products.
Recently developed, the harmonisation with the standards will, all cards in order, ease HITIQ’s access into supply chains facing 132 national member federations – the teams making up World Rugby.
The company’s eyeing its Nexus mouthguard product which contains sensors that ‘talk to’ HITIQ’s software, letting the company’s tech team map where concussion injuries are most likely to occur.
HITIQ originally started out making concussion imaging tech but has since moved into mouthguards through the 2020’s. The relatively quiet stock operates a unique niche on the ASX.
Management described the move as a milestone on Thursday.
“Meeting World Rugby’s performance specifications is a significant milestone for HITIQ,” CCO Damien Hawes said.
“This validation demonstrates the quality and efficacy of our technology and positions us as a key player in the safety solutions market for rugby union worldwide.”
