HomeStay achieves first sales under Essence APAC agreement

Assisted home-living company, HomeStay Care has reported strong sale results for its IoT in-home care platform.

These initial sales mark the first since HomeStay’s go-to-market strategy with Essence APAC. On July 15 2019, HomeStay and Essence APAC signed a binding Heads of Agreement (HoA) for HomeStay to become the exclusive reseller of Essence APAC’s ‘smart living’ solutions in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Essence APAC is the Asia-Pacific distributor for Essence Security International. Its healthcare-related technology is used in HomeStay’s intelligence platform. This platform includes a suite of technologies such as motion sensors, call hubs, door sensors and emergency response pendants. These products are a smart way to aid elderly Australians to live independently while making them feel safe.

HomeStay believed the HoA would result in a near-term increase in revenues and would help its expansion in new markets. So far, this has been the case.

“The licence with Essence APAC has increased our customer reach and sales pipeline with a combined sales and marketing program to our go-to-market success,” CEO Philippa Lewis said.

The sales for approximately $330,000 consist of invoiced sales and purchase orders for HomeStay’s intelligent home system packages. These being up-front purchases and ongoing monthly subscriptions.

Part of the total sales includes a contracted purchase order valued at approximately $300,000 to a leading Australian-based provider of independent living services, which will be invoiced and delivered during this quarter.

These initial sales enables HomeStay to capture market share in the $580 million hardware and software market with its cloud-based platform and consumer IoT solution.

“The IoT platform is scalable across different client segments and geographies. Analytics within the platform will enable us to continually refine it to provide the best care possible for all clients based on learning from past activities and interactions across the Intelligent Home platform,” Philippa said.

The aged care and disability sector is growing and HomeStay is uniquely positioned to supply this industry and help enable people to stay in their homes safely for as long as possible.
