The Market Online

Good afternoon, and welcome to the HotCopper HotList column. Every week, ASX companies of every shape and size go through the ups and downs that is the Australian trading rollercoaster. Fortunes made, and equity lost each time the bourse opens – which is why watching market trends is so key.

Listen to the HotCopper podcast for in-depth discussions and insights on all the biggest headlines from throughout the week. On Spotify, Apple, and more.

You certainily don’t have to go it alone, though: We’ve put together the “HotList,” the top ten ASX companies added to HotCopper watchlists in Week 5 — and this Friday, we’re starting with Alligator Energy.

1. Alligator Energy

Several hundred users have added Alligator Energy (ASX:AGE) to their HotCopper watchlists, and this time around, I’m happily going to take credit for the spike; I wrote a deep-dive on the uranium hopeful earlier this week, and why they make such an interesting value prop. Some must have taken notice.

That article, A southern advantage and the “discovery of the year” – Meet Alligator Energy, SA’s most advanced uranium player, is available here.

Price-wise, AGE has been up +24% this week, to around 5cps.

2. New Murchison Gold

Elsewhere, New Murchison Gold (ASX:NMG) continues to draw attention across the HotCopper forums, and for pretty good reason – the fresh-faced WA gold producer has been chugging along well.

NMG has been interesting for two reasons: 1) It’s +34% YTD and has expanded its value by +570% since last January, and then 2) the Aussie company blasted past its first reporting quarter with a +400% net profit jump.

Helped on by gold easily clearing $5K/oz, and the New Murchison-focused producer seems to be one we’ll be writing about a lot this year.

(Today, it’s a little dented, though; to 2pm, it’s some -3%.)

3. American Tungsten and Antimony

Then, rounding out our top three in the HotList this week, is American Tungsten and Antimony (ASX:AT4), which has been left licking its wounds through Week 5 after a Reuters article suggested U.S. rare earths investments might not be as global as traders had originally been thinking.

AT4 has been down some -7.6% through the week to Friday arvo, though any investor who got on last year is probably still plenty of green lights – the Aussie producer is still some +238% stronger than it was January CY25.

There was some cracking news for the developer in Week 5, too; it picked up a fully permitted tungsten mill in Utah’s Clifton Gold Hill mining district. This will let the company “bypass federal permitting timelines.”

And then, rounding out the HotList in Week 5 was:
