Hydrix chairman and CEO, Gavin Coote, said stroke remains one of the leading causes of death and long-term disability worldwide, with patient outcomes heavily dependent on rapid access to treatment.
He said despite significant advances in stroke care, many patients remain unable to receive timely intervention due to the specialised infrastructure, equipment and clinical expertise required to deliver current therapies.
In a key move to support new developments, Quantanosis is developing a novel non-invasive platform that combines advanced robotics, artificial intelligence and histotripsy ultrasound with the goal of rapidly targeting and treating stroke-causing blood clots,
“Hydrix has a long history of developing complex mission-critical systems that combine advanced software, electronics, sensing, automation and intelligent control technologies. These multidisciplinary capabilities are increasingly important across next-generation healthcare, industrial and defence applications,” Mr Coote said,
“Quantanosis is pursuing a highly innovative approach to one of healthcare’s most significant unmet needs, and we are pleased to continue supporting the program’s development.
“What excites us most is not only the technology itself, but the potential impact. If successful, platforms such as Quantanosis could help expand access to advanced stroke treatment and improve outcomes for patients who may not otherwise receive timely intervention.”
Quantanosis; technology seeks to address one of the most significant challenges in modern healthcare: delivering life- saving stroke treatment quickly enough to minimise permanent neurological injury.
By combining robotic automation with therapeutic ultrasound technologies, Quantanosis is pursuing an approach that has the potential to fundamentally change how acute stroke treatment is delivered in the future.
Following encouraging initial results from simulation and modelling activities, Quantanosis has extended Hydrix’s engagement to support further investigation of therapeutic ultrasound delivery and system performance as development of the platform progresses.
Quantanosis CEO, Dr Ameer Hassan, said the company’s vision is to fundamentally change how acute stroke treatment is delivered by combining robotics, artificial intelligence and histotripsy into a non-invasive treatment platform.
“Hydrix is playing an important role in helping us develop that vision, contributing specialist engineering expertise and working closely with our team as we advance the technology. We are pleased to continue building on the strong collaboration established to date.”
HYD is down 14.3% to 0.3¢. Mkt cap $3.675M.
