iCandy Interactive (ICI) and its joint venture partner, Lemon Sky Studio, have created a new company known as Sky Candy in Malaysia.

Last year, the company entered a binding term sheet with Lemon Sky to set up a new joint venture game studio company (JV-Co).

The entity will develop 3D mobile games with cross-platform potential and AAA quality.

AAA quality is used for video games which are produced by well-known publishers. This means they have higher development and marketing budgets.

Lemon Sky is one of the leading animation and digital art studios in the world. It has worked with Disney, Naughty Dog, Nickelodeon and Blizzard Entertainment.

Now, a joint venture company, known as Sky Candy, has been created in Malaysia.

Sky Candy has hired its first employee and is currently in the midst of hiring a studio team to carry out its game development activities. It is expecting a full team to be created by the end of February 2021.

On the market this afternoon, iCandy is down 1.85 per cent and is trading at 13.3 cents per share at 2:08 pm AEDT.
