iCandy Interactive (ICI) has already made $1 million in revenue from its new mobile game, Masketeers: Idle Has Fallen.

The million-dollar milestone came just 63 days after the game’s launch — the quickest-ever million dollars ever made from an iCandy game. For reference, the game developer’s previous most successful game, Crab War, took between 8 and 9 months to reach its first $1 million in revenue.

High expectations

Interestingly, iCandy told investors $1 million in Masketeers revenue has not been recorded in the company’s half-yearly figures for its current financial year, which ends on December 31, 2020; the whole lot will hit the books during the second half.

However, iCandy still made $1.03 million in revenue during the first half of this year, not including the Masketeers numbers.

Moreover, during the last financial year, iCandy made $2.2 million in full-year revenue. This means iCandy has matched its previous full-year revenue with just first-half revenue and Masketeers sales.

With this in mind, the company said full-year revenue for the current financial year is already set to surpass last financial year even before accounting to the second half of sales from all other products.

iCandy said it expects Masketeers revenue to remain strong into 2021.

Looking ahead

iCandy said it is now working on expanding its most successful game into more markets.

As it stands, while Masketeers has been launched in over 70 countries, it is currently only available in English.

iCandy is in the preparation stage of translating the game into other languages to launch it into other markets.

On top of this, the company said a major marketing campaign is underway across North America, which is particularly pertinent ahead of the Christmas festive and holiday season. According to the company, this period typically represents a major uptake period of video-games around the world.

The company added that given the global COVID-19 situation, where many countries still have lockdown rules, it believes the typical end-of-year gaming trend will be even stronger than normal.

As such, the company plans to almost double its marketing resources during the holiday period in anticipation of a major uptake in its gaming products.

iCandy is also going ahead will plans to launch Masketeers in China.

Investors responded well to today’s news, with shares in iCandy up 13.79 per cent at midday AEDT, trading at 16 cents each.
