iCandy Interactive (ICI) will launch into China after signing a game publishing agreement with Ohayoo.

The three-year agreement will see Ohayoo localise, publish and market iCandy’s Masketeers: Idle has Fallen mobile game.

Ohayoo is a major mobile casual game publisher in China. Notably, over the last 18 months, Ohayoo has become one of the fastest-growing mobile casual game platforms in China.

The game will be available on both Android and iOS, as well as third-party app stores in China.

iCandy’s Masketeers has reportedly reached $1 million in revenues over 60 days.

According to MarketingToChina, the country recorded over US$36.5 billion (nearly A$49 billion) in gaming revenue in 2019. The industry consensus is that China is now the world’s largest gaming market.

iCandy Chairman Kin W Lau says the company is entering an exciting growth phase and is thrilled to partner with Ohayloo.

“The Chinese gaming market is a new strategic market for iCandy at our growth phase, as it is the world’s largest gaming market now,” he said.

“This partnership with Ohayoo puts us in a very enviable position, on
the fastest track possible to enter the gaming market of China, getting exposure to a large part of the Chinese online community almost immediately,” he added.

Despite this positive news, iCandy is down 3.7 per cent and trading at 13 cents per share at 10:24 am AEDT.
