Impact Minerals (IPT) has intersected visible sulphide mineralisation in diamond drill core for the first time at two of its prospects in NSW

The mineralisation was intersected at the Little Broken Hill Gabbro and Red Hill prospects, both of which are part of the Broken Hill Project.

One hole was drilled at the Little Broken Hill Gabbro Prospect between two areas of previously completed reverse circulation (RC) drilling.

Previous work has encountered very encouraging platinum group element (PGE)-nickel-copper mineralisation, with up to 2.6g/t 3PGE, 0.7 per cent nickel and 0.2 per cent copper intersected.

This recently drilled hole intersected intense blebby and vein sulphide from 95 metres to 98 metres downhole.

Two diamond holes were then drilled at Red Hill to follow up on a previous significant intercept which returned up to 2.3g/t 3PGM (platinum group metals), 0.3 per cent copper and 0.3 per cent nickel.

A fourth drill hole is currently in progress and results will be reported on completion.

The core from these three holes is now being assayed and analysed with results expected to be received by late July to early August.

“It’s great to get a first look at the high tenor PGE-dominant mineralisation at the base of the Little Broken Hill Gabbro,” Managing Director Dr Mike Jones commented.

“It is evident that there is very significant potential along the entire length of the 6.5 kilometre long intrusion and we are gearing up towards a major follow up drill program at all of our prospects there as soon as practicable.

“We will have to wait for assays to confirm the PGE grades and of course there are significant delays in laboratories across Australia at present.”

Shares in Impact closed up 3.13 per cent at 1.7 cents.
