Indiana Resources (IDA) has started its reverse circulation drill program at its Central Gawler Craton gold project in South Australia.

The drilling will consist of 16 holes for 2100 metres at the Minos prospect. It is expected to be completed within 10 days.

The company is aiming to better define known high-grade zones in order to deliver a maiden resource estimate.

So far, drilling has identified a 600 metre strike extent of shallow, near-surface mineralisation.

IDA is awaiting assays from the calcrete sampling program, which is expected to find further gold anomalies, mineralised trends, and assist with future targeting.

“Combined with the current drilling campaign, the calcrete results will set the foundations for an expanded exploration program in 2022 that will help us unlock the full potential of the Central Gawler Craton gold project,” Technical Director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said.

“We look forward to implementing our expanded exploration program once all requisite approvals are received.”

On market close, IDA shares were trading 2.94 per cent lower at 6.6 cents each.
