Indiana Resources (IDA) has submitted 1035 samples from its Central Gawler project in South Australia for re-assay.

Over 1000 sample pulps from 72 aircore drill holes were submitted for a full suite of rare earth element (REE) assays, following the confirmation of REE mineralisation within its 5713 square kilometre project.

The analysis of these drill holes is hoped to better characterise the extent and tenor of REE mineralisation, plus assist with refining target areas for follow-up drill testing.

An initial batch of sample pulps from six holes in 2021 were submitted for the full suite of light and heavy REEs, which returned significant values up to 15,486 parts per million total rare earth oxides.

Technical Director Felicity Repacholi-Muir said the ability to move quickly to re-assay existing samples for the full suite of REE is of tremendous value for the company.

“We have started planning for follow up drilling and the assays from this larger, more extensive drill data set will assist us in refining our program,” the Technical Director said.

The company reported work is now in progress to collect additional data to define the distribution of the different rare earths in the weathering profile, plus identify any underlying bedrock lithological or structural controls on the distribution of the mineralisation.

Assay results from the laboratory are expected within six weeks.

Indiana Resources shares dipped 1.52 per cent, trading at 6.5 cents at 1:30 pm AEST.
