Indoor Skydiving Australia (IDZ) has officially launched its new virtual reality platform; FREAK Entertainment.

FREAK opened to the public last Friday in Penrith, New South Wales. The product is a free-roam, multiplayer virtual reality (VR) experience that offers the user the most cutting edge, real-life 4D encounter in Australia.

CEO Wayne Jones says that FREAK is the first VR venue in Sydney offering both untethered, multiplayer free-roaming VR, combined with a VR arcade.

“After an extensive and thorough testing and development phase, we are satisfied that we have the world’s latest award-winning technology and content available,” he said.

FREAK offers products and experiences that have never before been available in Australia,” he added.

Indoor Skydiving says the initial feedback from critics has been extremely positive.

“If seeing is believing in VR, then FREAK VR is planning on opening people’s eyes.” Commented Joab Gilroy, Red Bull gaming expert in a recent article.

“It’s designed in a way that answers the sceptics’ checklist perfectly” he added.

Today Show’s tech reporter, Trevor Long was pleased with the technology.

“Freak VR is one of the coolest VR experiences I’ve taken part in. With full motion in a game limited space, it is utterly realistic,” Trevor said.

The company said it will now focus on opening its second location in the Gold Coast, which is scheduled to open in the 4th quarter of 2020.

Indoor Skydiving is up 20 per cent on the market this morning, trading at 1.2¢ per share at 11:08 am AEDT.
