Infinity Lithium (ASX:INF), through its subsidiary Extremadura New Energies, has achieved a significant milestone in the development of its San José lithium project in Spain.

The Cáceres Local Government, also known as City Hall, has issued a positive final assessment regarding the project’s urban compatibility with local legislative requirements.

City Hall’s evaluation concluded that the San José project aligns seamlessly with local urban planning regulations.

“This marks another crucial step in executing our permitting strategy. Moreover, it sets the stage for a prompt PREMIA assessment.” Extremadura New Energies CEO Ramon Jiménez said.

“Recent advancements in permitting and grant funding, supported by various government levels, provide a positive nod to the Project and the rapid progression of the battery value chain in Spain.”

This determination formalises the permitting process, with the Urban Compatibility Classification serving as a critical component in the forthcoming submissions for both the PREMIA application and the Exploitation Concession Application (ECA).

Infinity Lithium’s Project maintains its eligibility for the prestigious PREMIA project classification, signifying it as a venture of general and regional interest.

As part of the next steps, the PREMIA application will be submitted to the Consejería de Economía, Empleo y Transformación Digital of the Regional Government of Extremadura, further solidifying the San José Lithium project’s trajectory toward development.

INF last traded at 11 cents.
