Kalamazoo Resources (KZR) has completed a six-hole diamond drill program at the Lightning prospect within the Castlemaine Gold Project in Victoria.

The drilling program began in October 2020 and consisted of six diamond holes for 1819 metres.

The Lightning prospect was identified in 2019 as one of Kalamazoo’s top ten prospects located within the Castlemaine Gold Project, based on historical gold production and records, past drilling, and the results from recent groundwork and surveys.

The prospect is located approximately two kilometres south of the Mustang Prospect, where Kalamazoo completed its maiden diamond drilling program in April 2020.

The target model for the Lightning prospect is similar to Kalamazoo’s Fosterville and Wattle Gully Mines, which contained high-grade mineralisation associated with shallow-dipping fault ramp structures that cross-cut anticline-syncline folds.

Final assay results are pending and will be reported in due course.

Kalamazoo Resources is up 2.7 per cent, trading at 57 cents per share at 11:20 am AEDT.
