Kalium Lakes (KLL) has reported an improved performance from the brine orebody at its Beyondie sulphate of potash (SOP) project in Western Australia.

The company said brine supply from Sunshine Lakes and 10 Mile Lake were delivering potassium grades at or above target.

Aggregate brine flow rates from borefield and trenching operations to the pre-concentration ponds had been restored to close to the 90,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) SOP target level, according to the company.

Kalium said it introduced initiatives to minimise transfer pipeline capacity restrictions and progressively restore Sunshine pre-concentration and primary evaporation pond operations towards full capacity during the current quarter.

The company said the SOP purification plant was currently idled to make way for rectification works, which were expected to be completed in March.

An updated Beyondie commissioning and production ramp-up schedule was also earmarked to be released next month.

Kalium has kicked off production borehole drilling and procurement of the second Sunshine pre-concentrated brine transfer pipeline as part of the 120,000 tpa expansion plan.

KLL shares were steady at 12.5 cents at 1:43 pm AEDT.
