Kin Mining (KIN) has received the final assay results from one-metre split samples collected at Lewis East and Lewis West.

These samples come from the air core (AC) drilling program completed in December 2019 at Cardinia, a prospective gold project located near Leonora, Western Australia.

The Cardinia Gold Project has an 945,000 ounce gold Mineral Resource defined in both oxide and deeper primary mineralisation. The company is planning to grow this resource with ongoing drilling.

On February 7 2020, Kin Mining announced new shallow, large, ore grade zones of mineralisation were identified at Lewis East, and broad areas of anomalous alteration mineralisation at Lewis West.

These recent one-metre samples were collected from four-metre composite samples greater than 0.1 grammes per tonne of gold to better define the mineralised zones.

“The one-metre split sampling has confirmed that the broad medium grade intersections generally contain a narrower, higher grade core of mineralisation displaying vein style pyrite mineralisation surrounded by lower grade disseminated sulphides and alteration,” Managing Director Andrew Munckton said.

Lewis East 1 metre assays

Results from the final batch of Lewis East one-metre split samples has confirmed high grade mineralisation and is interpreted to be present as northeast-dipping lodes.

Resampling of the one-metre samples resulted in several narrower, high grade zones including one metre at 4.81g/t gold from three metres, three metres at 1.45g/t gold from 12 metres, and 11 metres at 3.85g/t gold from 24 metres.

Hole LE19AC044 produced a similar result, with an intercept of six metres at 3.63g/t gold from nine metres. This intercept comes from a mineralisation zone that produced an original composite intercept of 16 metres at 1.33g/t gold from eight metres.

Reverse circulation (RC) drilling is planned to test several of these lodes. The rig is currently drilling at Cardinia Hill but is expected to move to Lewis East by mid-April.

Lewis West one metre assays

The one-metre split assays at Lewis West have also confirmed the original 4 metre composite assays. These produced wide low grade intercepts including 16 metres at 0.38g/t gold and 16 metres at 0.35g/t gold.

The one-metre splits identified narrow higher grade zones within these low grade zones, including one metre at 3.24g/t gold from 10 metres in hole LW19AC031.

The results highlight a clear anomaly zone that is located along a structure related to the Lewis Fault system.

While no further drilling is currently planned at Lewis West, follow up work on the higher grade historical drill intersections to the east of the air core drilling will be completed at some point.

Kin Mining is down a slight two per cent and shares are trading for 4.9 cents each at 10:53 am AEDT.
