- Rocket Lab and Kleos have confirmed the August 2019 lift-off

Space-powered Radio Frequency data provider, Kleos Space S.A has confirmed its Scouting Mission launch for August 2019. Four nano-satellites built by will be ejected from a Rocket Lab Electron launch vehicle.
The Scouting Mission will form the foundation of a constellation system which will deliver a global picture of unknown maritime activity.
Kleos is reportedly on track with all its preparations on its Scouting Mission satellites and is just awaiting the Rocket Lab customer area to accept the Kleos team for integration activities. All four satellites have successfully undergone all necessary checks with Rocket Lab’s own designed and built Maxwell dispenser.
“Kleos technical team have applied themselves exceptionally well to achieve this stage mission-readiness for the Kleos’ Scouting Mission and continue to optimise the post-launch phase of the mission to ensure revenue generating data starts flowing as quickly as possible,” CEO, Andrew Bowyer said.
The Kleos’ Scouting Mission satellites will be commissioned in a 500-kilometre Sun Synchronous Orbit as part of a ride share mission with Rocket Lab. Rocket Lab has advised Kleos the 14-day launch window will be made public approximately 20 days before the launch date.
