Koonenberry Gold (ASX: KNB) continues to progress a range of activities across its NSW portfolio, including the commencement of exploration at the recently acquired Gundagai project.

“At Wilga Flats, the 450m deep diamond hole is nearing its planned depth and a second rig has commenced drilling four additional RC/DD holes as we await the results from the initial holes,” executive chairman, Paul Harris, said.

“The latest results at Breakfast Creek have strengthened our understanding of the project’s polymetallic potential, with high-grade copper rock chips supported by refined soil anomalies, skarn-style alteration and previously untested EM conductors emerging from our latest field work.

“The integration of these datasets has established clear priorities for near- term drilling at three targets, and drill planning is well advanced.”

Mr Harris highlighted the commencement of the company’s first on-ground exploration at Gundagai at the large-scale Big Ben target area designed to generate new drill targets.

At Dunedoo maiden drilling returned low-grade gold and silver anomalism at the Hillside target, no significant mineralisation was returned from the encouraging sulphide veining and hydrothermal alteration at Bolinda Vale.
“The results provide important information and vectors for assessing the nearby exploration potential especially to the north of the recent drilling.

“Our focus remains on advancing the most prospective opportunities across the portfolio.”

At Wilga Flats Koonenberry’s expanded drilling program, including the addition of a second drill rig, continues along the 4.2km-long Olaf’s Trend following encouraging geological observations from initial drilling in the north of the trend.

Recent exploration at Breakfast Creek has advanced the company’s understanding of the copper-gold and tin-tungsten polymetallic potential, defining three polymetallic skarn targets at Balbardie and Bimberoo.

At Balbardie infill soil geochemistry refined and enhanced an 1.8km long high tenor copper and polymetallic geochemical anomaly coincident with an unexplained magnetic high.

Recent exploration at Bimberoo has defined two priority skarn target areas characterised by copper-gold and tin-indium-tungsten geochemical associations, mapped skarn alteration and undrilled modelled EM conductors.

KNB was down 5.56% to 1.7¢. Mkt cap $22.20M.
