Larvotto Resources (LRV) has defined a broad lithium geochemical anomaly at the Merivale prospect within its Eyre Project in WA.

The anomaly was identified via Larvotto’s geochemical soil program that was undertaken to test the prospective rock units that extend from Liontown Resources (LTR) Buldania deposit.

Work defined the anomaly to span over four kilometres in length with a higher-grade centre over a length of one kilometre.

Up to 126 parts per million (ppm) lithium was identified which is five times the background levels.

Further, the anomaly coincides with ultramafic and granite gneiss rocks, and predominantly sits in the felsic volcanic rocks east of the mafic volcanics and ultramafics.

Larvotto will now undertake drilling to define the lateral and depth extents of the pegmatite units as well as test the grade of the mineralisation.

“The results from our lithium geochemistry program carried out earlier this year highlight the presence of a significant lithium soil geochemical anomaly associated with minor outcrop and broad areas of pegmatite float,” Managing Director Ron Heeks said.

“The anomaly now requires follow-up drilling to delineate pegmatite horizons and test for significant lithium mineralisation.”

Shares in Larvotto were up 26.5 per cent on the market and were trading at 21.5 cents at 2:41 pm AEDT.
