Latin Resources (LRS) has confirmed it’s on track to deliver a mineral resource estimate for the Noombenberry Project in WA in the second quarter of 2021.

The latest results are from an area of the project near Merredin where logging showed thick bright white kaolinite saprolite.

Samples were sent for scanning electron microscope quality control analysis with results showing halloysite nano-tube development with a good aspect ratio, or length to width ratio, according to the company.

To date, results have been received for 300 of the 750 samples submitted for testwork.

Among the latest results was a 26-metre intercept at 9 per cent halloysite, 86 per cent kaolinite and 80 ISO-B from five metres in hole NBAC068.

Hole NBAC058 returned 47 metres at 7 per cent halloysite, 79 per cent kaolinite and 77 ISO-B from eight metres.

“While we still have a number of samples working their way through analysis, we are on track to deliver a maiden JORC resources in Q2 2021, while continuing our early-stage discussion with potential offtake partners,” said Executive Director Chris Gale.

“Global development opportunities for high purity halloysite are potentially unlimited and include battery technology, carbon capture, water purification and hydrogen storage,” he added.

The Australian-based minerals explorer acquired the Noomenberry Project approximately 300 kilometres from Perth in 2019, through the acquisition of Electric Metals.

Shares have been trading 3.5 per cent higher at 5.9 cents at 1:41 pm AEDT.
