Leeuwin’s high-grade gold hits at Evanston prove mine has ‘enormous exploration potential’

Leeuwin Metals (ASX:LM1) has reeled in its first high-grade gold results at the Evanston prospect at Marda in Western Australia, with managing director Chris Piggot telling HotCopper, “the results speak for themselves.”

Mr Piggot joined Evan Smith from HotCopper for a Watchlist interview on Monday as results broke, breaking down why the hits are so key for the explorer.

Key intercepts from the first batch included nine metres at 5.23 grams per tonne gold from 57 metres (including four metres at 10.68g/t gold from 60 metres) and 11m at 3.12g/t from 85m (including 6m at 4.88g/t gold from 85m).

“We got really encouraging, exciting results,” Mr Piggott explained. “This is the first significant program at that mine in over 20 years… the results demonstrate an enormous amount of exploration potential.”
