  • Lefroy Exploration (LEX) has received more assay results from its recent drilling program at the Burns gold-copper deposit
  • A total of 22 holes were drilled at Burns, which forms part of the company’s wider Lefroy Gold Project in Kalgoorlie
  • Best results include 62 metres at 0.47g/t gold and 0.45 per cent copper from 68 metres down-hole to end of the hole, including 30 metres at 0.57g/t gold, 0.63 per cent copper and 3.9g/t silver from 100 metres
  • Overall these latest results help support LEX’s belief that Burns hosts a large primary intrusion-related gold-copper-silver system
  • They also differ from the thick high-grade gold porphyry, which was intersected at Burns during the previous drilling
  • Next steps for the company will be to carry out additional diamond drilling at burns to test the gold-copper mineralisation
  • Shares in Lefroy Exploration are trading up 0.85 per cent at 59.5 cents per share

Lefroy Exploration (LEX) has received more assay results from its recent drilling program at the Burns gold-copper deposit.

The deposit forms part of the company’s wider Lefroy Gold Project in Kalgoorlie, WA, where LEX carried out a 22-hole drilling campaign.

The company has now received the results from 12 of the holes drilled, with these holes, in particular, targeting gold-copper mineralisation within a basalt host rock over 160 metres of strike length.

Best results include 62 metres at 0.47g/t gold and 0.45 per cent copper from 68 metres down-hole to end of the hole, including 30 metres at 0.57g/t gold, 0.63 per cent copper and 3.9g/t silver from 100 metres.

These latest results also support LEX’s belief that Burns hosts a large primary intrusion-related gold-copper-silver system.

Additionally, the basalt hosted gold-copper mineralisation is different from the thick high-grade gold porphyry which was intersected at Burns previously.

“This is an important development and adds a new dimension to this exciting new mineral system in the Eastern Goldfields where we are very keen to get back drilling later this month,” Managing Director Wade Johnson said.

Diamond drilling is scheduled to begin at Burns later this month to follow up
and extend the high-grade gold copper porphyry.

Shares in Lefroy Exploration are trading up 0.85 per cent at 59.5 cents per share at the close of market on Monday.
