Legend Mining (LEG) has intersected 12.95 metres of massive nickel-copper sulphides from hole RKDD023 at the Mawson prospect.

Mawson is part of the Rockford Project which lies within the highly prospective Fraser Range district in Western Australia.

Hole RKDD023 was designed to test a strong 25,000 to 30,000S offhole conductor which was previously identified in hole RKDD021.

In addition to intersecting 12.95 metres of nickel-copper sulphides, hole RKDD023 also intersected a wide zone of nickel-copper mineralisation over 90 metres in width and depths ranging between 216.45 metres to 310.4 metres.

Further, visual sulphide mineralisation ranged between one per cent and more than 80 per cent.

Now, Legend will undertake downhole transient electromagnetic surveys to identify additional significant nickel-copper mineralisation across the 90-metre zone.

“The discovery of another 12.95 metres of massive nickel-copper sulphide in diamond drill hole 23 is a quantum boost for the potential of the Mawson prospect,” Managing Director Mark Wilson commented.

“The nature of the mineralisation suggest we are closer to the intrusive source but we are not there yet. Downhole EM from this hole, which is now underway, is designed to provide data to assist in planning future diamond holes in this immediate vicinity,” he said.

“Importantly, the reverse circulation drilling confirms the Mawson intrusive complex extends north and east of the known Mawson nickel-copper sulphide mineralisation, confirming the prospectivity for mineralised intrusives below the eastern aircore geochemical anomaly,” he added.

Legend’s share price is steady and shares have been trading for 16.5 cents each since September 2.
