Legend Mining (LEG) has intersected significant nickel-copper sulphides from hole RKDD021 at the Mawson prospect.

Mawson is part of the Rockford Project, which is located in the highly prospective Fraser Range district in Western Australia.

This hole was designed to test an offhole conductor that was identified via a downhole electromagnetic (DHTEM) survey in hole RKRC013.

Hole RKDD021 has intersected a total of 24.65 metres of nickel-copper sulphides across two intervals.

The first interval totalled 9.3 metres of heavy dispersed to net-textured sulphide from between 132.2 metres and 141.5 metres downhole.

The second interval totalled 15.35 metres of net-textured, semi-massive, and heavily dispersed sulphide from 219.1 metres to 234.45 metres downhole.

Drill core from this hole will now be structurally logged before being sampled and submitted for analysis.

“Geologically we have now intersected significant mineralisation several hundred metres to the east-north-east of our previous discovery and our geophysical advice is that we probably have not hit the best part of this conductor,” Managing Director Dr Mark Wilson said.

“Our proven systematic methodology of DHTEM and structural logging of this hole on completion will provide the data for the design of the next diamond holes in this immediate vicinity,” he added.

Legend continues with diamond, reverse circulation, and aircore drilling programs at Mawson and the greater Rockford Project.

Company shares are up a steady 14.8 per cent and are trading for 15.5 cents each at 10:39 am AEST.
