Legend Mining (LEG) has received strong results from three diamond holes at the Mawson prospect.

Mawson lies within the Rockford Project, which is located in the highly prospective Fraser Range district in Western Australia.

RKDD017

Hole RKDD017 aimed to test an offhole conductor that was identified in two previous holes and intersected three significant massive sulphide intervals.

Results from this hole include; 2.8 metres at 2.84 per cent nickel, 2.06 per cent copper and 0.15 per cent cobalt from 193.10 metres, and 19.8 metres at 2.71 per cent nickel, 1.79 per cent copper, and 0.13 per cent cobalt from 227.8 metres.

A downhole transient electromagnetic (DHTEM) survey has also identified an offhole conductor with results suggesting that mineralisation continues west into hole RKDD016.

“The pay dirt grades returned over 35.95 metres in hole 17 confirm this to be the best hole drilled at Mawson to date,” Managing Director Mark Wilson said.

“The mineralisation remains open to the northeast, southwest and east of the current diamond drilling and requires further analysis of all data sets prior to planning step out reverse circulation and diamond holes,” he said.

RKDD016

This hole aimed to test the southern extension of massive sulphide mineralisation that was intersected in hole RKDD013.

It intersected a best result of 1.85 metres at 1.13 per cent nickel, 0.35 per cent copper and 0.05 per cent cobalt from 112.7 metres.

RKDD014

The final hole, RKDD014, was designed to target the eastern extension of a massive sulphide intersection intersected in hole RKDD011.

It intersected 7.7 metres at 1.29 per cent nickel, 0.68 per cent copper, and 0.07 per cent cobalt from 249.9 metres.

Legend has also provided an update on holes RKDD018 to RKDD020.

All results for these holes are pending, but hole RKDD018 has intersected 12.85 metres of dispersed sulphides.

Legend is now continuing with reverse circulation drilling to target the known sulphide mineralisation, geochemical anomalies, and gravity features.

The company is also continuing with infill aircore drill across the greater project area.

Legend is up 7.41 per cent on the market and shares are trading for 14.5 cents each at 11:04 am AEST.
