Legend Mining (LEG) has announced further assay results from its aircore drilling program at the Mawson prospect within the Rockford Project in WA.

The latest results are from an additional 37 holes and, out of these, six returned broad intervals, with anomalous nickel and copper associated with mafic and ultramafic intrusives.

The Mawson discovery has consistently defined the northeast-southwest trending eastern geochemical anomaly over an area of 1200 metres by 200 metres.

The results from drill holes RKAC838 to RKAC842, along with other previous holes, have returned broad intersections, ranging from 21 metres to 43 metres with anomalous nickel and copper spanning over 400 metres in a north-south direction.

Best results include; 38 metres at 0.20 per cent nickel, 0.05 per cent copper, 0.03 per cent cobalt from 72 metres to end of hole in RKAC841, and 43 metres at 0.12 per cent nickel, 0.02 per cent copper, 0.02 per cent cobalt from 64 metres to end of hole in RKAC842.

“These results are from the ongoing infill aircore programme at Mawson and have extended and strengthened the eastern geochemical footprint,” Managing Director Mark Wilson said.

Legend expects the current aircore drilling program will be completed within the next two weeks after infill drilling over southern and northeastern targets is completed.

This program will be followed up with a 180-hole, 10,000-metre regional aircore drilling program over the western and southern tenements of the Rockford Project.

Company shares remain flat and are trading for 13.5 cents each at 10:50 am AEST.
