LinQ Minerals (ASX:LNQ) has obtained initial high-grade assays from its current drill program at the Monza gold-copper prospect in New South Wales.

The company is following up its maiden Monza drilling program at the Gilmore gold-copper project in May. To date, eight holes have been completed and initial assays have shown promise.

“Our maiden drill campaign at Monza is currently delivering excellent first pass results, intersecting shallow, thick copper gold mineralisation from near surface,” executive chair, Clive Donner, said.

“We are highly encouraged by some of the higher-grade results within the Breccia zones and look forward to receiving the additional pending results at Monza.”

Highlight results include 5.0m at 5.36% copper equivalent (CuEq) and 24m at 0.94% CuEq within broader 208m intersection at 0.61% CuEq from 38m and 28m at 1.85% CuEq within broader 226m intersection at 0.70% CuEq from 47m within a separate hole.

Monza forms part of a broader 17km long mineralised porphyry copper and gold corridor that includes reported MRE’s at the Estoril, Culingerai and Mandamah deposits along with two advanced prospects at Monza and Donnington

The results to date confirm a moderate to steep west dipping porphyry system interpreted to plunge steeply northwest to north northwest. Significantly, the results also indicate updip and along strike extensions to the sulphide breccia intersected within a discovery hole

Collectively, the Monza and Estoril complexes occupy a prospective strike extent of two km. An approximate one km gap occurs between the two whereby previous aircore drilling has identified multiple anomalous copper equivalent responses that have not been subject to drill testing.

LNQ is up 3.51% to 29.5¢. Mkt cap $58.44M.
