Lithium Power International (LPI) has begun a drone magnetic survey at the Blackwood prospect in Western Australia.

The aim of this survey is to provide LPI with the highest detail possible regarding the structural architecture of the Donnybrook Shear Zone (DSZ).

The DSZ is the major structure that hosts the Greenbushes pegmatite, and does not have a strong surface expression as it is predominantly covered by soil and laterite.

The survey will produce high resolution and accurate data that will reveal the geological structures that are not visible with traditional surveys.

This will allow LPI to understand where the pegmatites are most likely located to focus its future work.

A total of 451 flight kilometres will be completed along 154 north-south lines with a further 55 kilometres of east-west trending lines.

Once the drone survey wraps up, soil sampling and reverse circulation (RC) drilling will follow.

“This drone survey will allow us to design and execute an efficient and well-targeted exploration program, minimising surface disturbance while maximising the likelihood of discovery and eventual delineation of mineralised pegmatites,” CEO Cristobal Garcia-Huidobro said.

“The exploration program on the northern tenement has also commenced on the East Kirup prospect, with a detailed fauna and flora survey underway ahead of the drilling program scheduled to commence in early December.”

LPI has ended the day 3.16 per cent in the green with shares trading at 49 cents in a $165.6 million market cap.
