Lodestar Minerals (LSR) has reported recent drilling results point to an extensive contact-related alteration zone potentially hosting “significant” gold mineralisation at the Contessa prospect within its Ned’s Creek joint venture project in Western Australia.

Better intersections from the wide-spaced reverse circulation (RC) drilling program included 20 metres grading 0.69 grams per tonne gold from 120 metres, 24 metres at 0.51 g/t from 116 metres and four metres at 2.25 g/t from 120 metres.

The company said the key takeaway from the round of drilling was confirmation of the granite contact as a priority target.

Two of the RC holes “bookend” a 1,200-metre contact strike length between Contessa and the project’s Central Park prospect.

Lodestar said it was targeting the untested granite contact at Contessa and Central Park as well as aiming to verify historical aircore drilling results from the Contessa supergene gold mineralisation zone.

The company intends extending its RC drilling campaign along the contact.

LSR shares were steady at 1.2 cents at 11:43 am AEDT.
