Los Cerros (LCL) has intersected further gold at the Tesorito South gold porphyry in Columbia.

Tesorito South is part of the Quinchia Gold Project which is in central west Columbia, 100 kilometres south of the nation’s second largest city Medellin.

This recent drilling has returned some of the best results so far with a peak value of 36 metres at 3.31 grams of gold per tonne (g/t) from surface intersected.

Other results include 378 metres at 1.03g/t gold from surface, including 222 metres at 1.51g/t gold from surface, including 59.5 metres at 2.6g/t gold from surface.

The result of 3.31g/t gold is the highest grade ever recorded from surface and it bodes well for further extension drilling to the east and northeast which is currently underway.

“In previous recent announcements, and interpolating from nearby near-surface drill results, we flagged the possibility that the higher grade central zone at Tesorito South may reach surface to the east or northeast of where much of our attention has been to date,” Managing Director Jason Stirbinskis said.

“Drillholes TS-DH25 & ’26 and TS-DH27 are testing extensions in the general north-northeast region and we are currently designing another series of step out holes.”

Step-out drilling is continuing with aims of extending the dimensions of the known mineralisation.

Shares in Los Cerros were up 1.56 per cent and trading at 16.3 cents at 12:10 pm AEST.
