Lucapa (LOM) has sold a parcel of diamonds produced at the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola.

The sale was the second of the calendar year from Lulo and saw Lucapa and its partners bring in US$3.7 million (roughly A$4.6 million) for the parcel or US$3525 (around A$4457) per carat.

“This is our third run of mine rough parcel sold this calendar year from our two mines and we continue to see good prices for our premium production,” commented Lucapa Managing Director, Stephen Wetherall, on the year’s production.

Lucapa is a diamond producer with mines in Angola and Lesotho. The Lulo alluvial mine in Angola and Mothae kimberlite generate more than 75 per cent of revenue from the recovery of stones with more than 4.8 carats.

To date, Lulo has produced 18 diamonds with more than 100 carats and is one of the highest average U.S.-dollar-per-carat alluvial diamond producers in the world.
