Mandrake Resources (MAN) has received assays for drill hole MNEWRC004 which targeted an electromagnetic (EM) conductor plate at the Newleyine prospect in WA.

The company said the results were encouraging. They include four metres at 0.37 per cent nickel and 229 parts per million (ppm) copper from 82 metres, and one metre at 0.33 per cent nickel and 368 ppm copper from 69 metres.

EM conductor plate C was modelled using data from a fixed loop EM (FLEM) survey in 2020.

MNEWRC004 intersected the modelled position of the EM conductor plate C but didn’t intersect conductive material that might explain the presence of the plate.

Following the hole being drilled, Mandrake undertook a downhole EM survey which refined the location of the main conductor. It has been found to sit right above and to the southeast of MNEWRC004.

The single off-hole conductor is an 80-metre by 20-metre strongly conductive plate with a strong conductance of 8750 siemens. The conductive plate is 125 metres below ground surface.

While Mandrake is focused on the Delfin copper project in Chile, it will further assess the newly identified highly conductive plate.

MAN shares were up 3.51 per cent on market close, trading at 5.9 cents.
