Mandrake Resources (MAN) has completed drilling at its Berinka Pine Creek gold project in the Northern Territory.

A total of 1131 metres of drilling was undertaken over 11 holes across the project, comprising a majority of reverse circulation (RC) drilling to follow up gold and copper mineralisation identified in the company’s 2020 drilling campaign.

The 2020 program targeted two greenfield prospects named Vegetation Anomaly and Terry’s Gap, which were identified from aeromagnetics and historic gold results.

One RC hole returned a three metre intercept grading 1.8 grams of gold per tonne, 32 grams of silver per tonne and 2.1 per cent copper from 124 metres downhole.

However, this program was curtailed by difficult ground conditions and rig breakdown.

In addition to following up this work, Mandrake’s latest program also sought to test four other prospects nearby.

An 84-metre diamond tail was completed, with the core now being processed prior to cutting and sampling, while all RC samples have been sent for assaying.

Company shares last traded at 3.6 cents on September 28.
