Drilling at Aurora Tank Source: Marmota

Marmota (MEU) has completed drilling at the Aurora Tank gold project in South Australia with 12,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling undertaken.

The program was expanded from 10,000 metres to 12,000 metres with 99 holes drilled instead of the original 85.

Of the 99 holes drilled, 79 were at Aurora Tank while 20 were drilled on the surrounding tenements.

The aim of this program was to test further extensions of the northwest flank which previously intersected three metres at 72g/t from 66 metres including one metre at 197g/t gold.

Sub-parallel extensions are present to the north and northeast with extensions at depth and to the east of the Aurora Tank mineralised zones.

Samples will be sent to Adelaide for laboratory testing with results expected in roughly six weeks.

“This has been a thoroughly exciting and intriguing program. Were it not for a variety of logistical issues, we would have liked to extend the program further,” Chairman Dr Colin Rose said.

“We are hoping this will be our final drill program at Aurora Tank prior to lodging a mining lease application at Aurora Tank.

“The program develops a number of parallel extensions that are still open, and should enable us to complete work on an optimal pit design.”

Marmota was steady on the market with shares trading at 5.7 cents at 3:44 pm AEST.
