Marmota (MEU) has reported grades over 70 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold at Aurora Tank in South Australia’s Gawler Craton.

Drilling intersected 4 metres at 70 g/t gold from 64 metres downhole, the company’s best 4 metre composite.

The assay results come from a drilling program completed in September which also intersected high-grade extensions to the north and at depth.

The NW Flank is now known to extend 285 metres and the last drill hole at the northern extent intersected 4 metres at 9.2 g/t from 80 metres downhole and remains open.

It was also the first time the company intersected high-grade gold below 80 metres and best intercepts included 4 metres at 7.3 g/t from 120 metres downhole.

Marmota Chairman Dr Colin Rose said he is delighted with the results and that Aurora Tank continues to grow.

“Aurora Tank is fortunate to combine high-grade intersections that are close to surface, with excellent metallurgy, making Aurora Tank potentially amenable to low-cost low capex open-pittable heap leach methods, which are our clear focus”

Marmotta will now return to the drill site to collect one-metre samples for assay as well as finalise ecological studies and hydrology work.

Shares last traded at 4.7 cents each.
