Marquee Resources (MQR) has secured a drill contractor for its Kibby Basin lithium project in the US state of Nevada.

The company has hired Drill NV to undertake a 3000 metre drilling program, which will begin at the end of April.

Drilling will test the highly conductive geophysical anomaly and potential lithium enriched aquifer at Kibby.

Kibby is a highly prospective asset located 60 kilometres from of North America’s only producing lithium mine, owned by the world’s largest lithium producer, Albemarle.

Previous activity at the project included a gravity survey, which showed Kibby to be a “drop down” basin which provides a catch basin for lithium-bearing ash and gravels over millions of years.

“After a difficult period trying to find the right drill contractor, we are very pleased to have secured the services of Drill NV Exploration Drilling and look forward to the upcoming drill campaign in April, which could be transformational for the company,” Executive Chairman Charles Thomas.

On the market, Marquee shares were flat at 11.5 cents at 12:39pm AEDT.
