Maximus Resources (MXR) has mapped out drill targets following a review across its Spargoville tenements in the Western Australian Goldfields region.

Third party CSA Global lithium expert, Ralph Porter, assessed historical and current geological data from the tenements, which included examination of outcropping pegmatites, drill-core and reverse circulation cuttings during a site visit.

It was found that the majority of pegmatites at the Lefroy and Larkinville projects have moderate to strong fractionation characteristics.

Additional rock sampling was also carried out on outcropping pegmatites which returned elevated lithium, caesium and rubidium results at both Lefroy and Larkinville.

Lithium grades at Larkinville peaked at 2.7 per cent lithium, with up to 4170 parts per million (ppm) caesium and 17250 ppm rubidium.

At the Lefroy prospect, lithium grades peaked at 1.9 per cent, with up to 2470 ppm caesium and 9800 ppm rubidium.

The field observations confirmed the pegmatites occurring within both prospects are zoned, and Maximus has defined specific areas for drill testing.

Planning and an approval process is underway for a drilling program which the company hopes to carry out in the second half of this year.

Shares in Maximus Resources were down 4.55 per cent at the close of trading on Tuesday to 6.3 cents each.
