Metal Hawk (ASX: MHK) has kicked off diamond drilling at the Thylacine south zone within its Leinster South project, located in Western Australia.

The campaign of approximately 1,200m is designed to test the high-grade Numbat lode and the associated Numbat shear zone located at the Thylacine south zone.

Drilling will follow up the discovery intercept at the Numbat lode in hole 26LSRC077 which returned 9.0m at 12.3 grams per tonne (g/t) from 70m in August 2026 and shear-hosted gold in hole 26LSRC075 which intersected 4.0m at 12.5 g/t from 43m in early October 2026.

Three holes for approximately 1,000m form part of the program co-funded by the WA government under the Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) Co-funded Exploration Drilling Program contributing up to $175,000 towards direct drilling costs.

Samples from the recently completed RC program, comprising 10 holes for 1,642m, are with the laboratory and assay results are expected mid-November.

“Diamond drilling is the next important step at Numbat. RC drilling has shown high-grade gold in both the quartz lode and the surrounding shear, and oriented core will help define the geometry and plunge of those high-grade zones and guide where we drill next,” MD, Will Belbin, said.

“We thank the WA Government for its support through the EIS, which is co-funding three holes in this program.

“With RC assays due in mid-November and diamond core to follow, we look forward to a strong flow of news from Leinster South over the coming months.”

The Leinster South project area covers more than 430 sq. km and is situated between 10km and 40km south of Leinster. Limited historical exploration has been conducted on the tenements. The majority of Metal Hawk’s work to date has been carried out on tenement E36/1068, which is located along the southeastern limb of the Lawlers Anticline on the world-class Agnew-Wiluna Greenstone Belt.

Metal Hawk identified high-grade surface gold at the Siberian Tiger prospect in August 2024, with subsequent exploration uncovering additional gold prospects including Thylacine and Tysons.

The company’s maiden drilling at Leinster South began in mid-2025, confirming high-grade gold mineralisation in bedrock across multiple prospects. Drilling completed to date has significantly advanced Metal Hawk’s understanding of gold mineralisation at Leinster South.

MHK was steady at 10.0¢ with a Mkt cap of $12.33M prior to markets opening.
